Metaphor Poem Composition

You might think I’m just

an athletic, hermit crab of a boy

with blonde hair

and green eyes

But I know I am more

much more than that

not a farmer or genius

not a bird or ocean

A racing pool

a fast-paced race pool

When I’m down under the water

or in isolation

When I go to the pool and think

listening to pump-up songs from my beats

I am a race pool being unused

water calm

waiting to be jumped in

But when I perk up

the waves of the pool start up again

molecules of water jump out of the pool

tempting kids to hop in

I begin to produce waves

that are haulted by the walls

until I get tired

and that’s when the pool dies down

rest and wait for the next competition to begin

and begin

and begin

this blonde-haired, green-eyed boy

is a waved-filled, constantly waiting pool
