Hatchet
Hatchet
By Gary Paulsen
He pulls out his hatchet and starts at the tree. “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen is an inspirational and based off a true story about Brian Robeson trying to survive in the Canadian wilderness.
“Hatchet” is about Brian Robeson in the wilderness with nothing except nothing except the hatchet his mom gave him. He goes through hardships such as a tornado, a moose, and a bear. He finds the strength and determination to keep fighting and survive.
My favorite part in the book is when the tornado hits, and destroys, all of his “home” or camp. He doesn’t let it get to him, and rebuilds his camp to where it’s new and better than before the tornado hit. He regains confidence to feed, clean, and survive, for himself.
I would recommend this book because once you start reading you can not stop. On a scale from one to ten, ten being the best, I would give “Hatchet” a ten because it’s a heart stopper and simply a great book.
